Effective Key Region-Guided Face Detail Optimization Algorithm for 3D Face Reconstruction

Low-cost and highly efficient 3D face reconstruction is a significant technique for developing virtual interaction applications. While the Kinect, typical low-cost data collection device, has been widely used in many applications, this work, we propose point cloud optimization method based on Kinect. Based different characteristics of Kinect cloud, diverse strategies were delicately applied to improve quality. Our extensive experiments clearly show that our approach outperforms traditional approaches terms accuracy.
